Guess what starts today?? SALES! You see, in France, you can't just mark down merchandise to get rid of it whenever you need to make room for new stuff. You must wait for the bi-annual, government-mandated, six-week long sales period.People have been busy doing "repérage," or scouting missions, for weeks, and know exactly what they want... somewhat akin to our Black Friday, except that it happens twice a year and goes on for six weeks each time. (The picture above says "On your mark... get set... SALES!!")
