Life in the boutique

See, this is the problem with Paris... if you happen to leave your house without your camera, you are liable to fall upon something very picture-worthy. Yesterday I arrived at the boutique to see that a MOVIE was being filmed outside. I should have known, because a woman came by the boutique last week to get some of our pink shopping bags to use in the movie. So alas, I cannot post a picture of the filming. But who knows... I might see another one while I'm here.

In the meantime, I will leave you with photos of the boutique.

This TV plays the runway show over and over again all day (not with sound, though.)

The hall with the four dressing rooms with little pink sofas in them

The back room, currently housing the spring/ summer 09 collection, which is on sale for 50% if you interested. 50% off of the original price of about 1500 euros, that is.

And men, we have a line for you, too

And here we have Pauline, my fellow intern, from the north of France, and Gerard. Gerard is making this weird face because he was trying to ensure that he didn't have a double chin in the picture, and Pauline was laughing at him for being so ridicuous.

We were all rather bored this afternoon and Gerard picks fights when he's bored. And, you see, Ungaro sells this horrendous smelling perfume called "Diva" (it was our original scent and smells like old ladies... I wish I could somehow give you a sample so you could understand how awful it is, but you'll just have to take my word for it. It's bad.) So the afternoon culminated in Gerard taking a bottle of Diva and running around after Pauline and me, SHOWERING us with this assault on the olfactory senses. It was absolutely foul. Then, of course, the entire boutique REEKED of "overly made-up ladies," and we had to go around for the rest of the day inhaling the awful stuff.

Here's a picture. Imagine what THAT smells like. Yeah.

What Gerard doesn't know is that before leaving, Pauline and I snuck downstairs and took his the jeans and shirt that he came to work in (you come in regular things and change into all black,) and absolutely doused everything in... you guessed it, everyone's favorite... DIVA. I mean we hosed his clothes DOWN in the stuff. Which means that he has to go home on the metro tonight REEKING of old ladies.

Who knows what horrible retribution will await us on the morrow.
